Animals

Animals play a significant part in the output of the pottery, and are, for me, very desirable. They come in moulded forms as well as as part of the decoration on jugs & vases. Most of the animals were those to be found in the nearby countryside, birds, fish, farm animals, frogs, however exotic beasts can be found amongst the moulded ware, armadillos, elephants, pelicans for example, which may have been derived from Paignton Zoo.

While it is great to have an 8″ white clay vase with the wings of the Kingfisher, which is diving to the RIGHT, forming 3 spouts as the top of the vase, it is Much Better to have a pair with the matching bird diving to the LEFT!
