The photos refer to model pixies and to sprigged pixies, the latter are created in a mould and, flat side down, are fixed to the side of the pot. See an example of a mould at the top of the photo gallery.

Aller Vale also used slip-decorated pixies on earlier pots and these are also illustrated.

I do not have an example of an Aller Vale Pixy holding a Tankard and Lantern – if you have an example of this or indeed any others not shown below, I would like to hear from you. (I am not sure whether the Tankard/Lantern version exists, despite information received several years ago, I have not seen one.)

Other Potteries, mainly Watcombe, also featured pixies, generally less-well finished than the Aller Vale versions.
